IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Saeedullah Safi

In their own words

Translated from Pashto. Dates and durations are retained as written.

I was in Afghanistan. I studied there and worked there. I was very happy there, and I feel good.

Two years ago I migrated to Pakistan. I was there for three years. Those days brought me the most experience of my life, and they were not without difficulties.

I did not give up there either. To stay connected with my country, I founded Afghan Times together with my wife, Salma Niazi. We worked hard to serve our country.

In 2023 we came to Ireland. Here we have a happy life and many opportunities. Here, too, we write stories about our country through Afghan Times and stay connected with our people.

The manuscript says “two years ago” and “three years” in Pakistan. This apparent inconsistency has not been silently corrected.
